Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Overview

SpeedIP (https://www.speedip.co) provides free internet speed tests and network diagnostic tools. We are committed to your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

What we collect

  • Speed test measurements — download speed, upload speed, latency, jitter, and bufferbloat grade measured during a test. These results are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not transmit or store individual test results on our servers.
  • IP address and rough location — your public IP address is processed server-side solely to return geolocation data (country, region, city) to the "What Is My IP" tool. It is not logged or stored beyond the lifetime of the request.
  • Anonymous aggregate usage — we may collect aggregated, non-identifiable statistics (e.g. how many tests ran today) to monitor service health. No personal identifiers are included.

What we do not collect

  • No account or email address is required or collected.
  • We do not use third-party advertising trackers or ad networks.
  • We do not sell your data to any third party.
  • We do not use cross-site tracking cookies or fingerprinting techniques.
  • We do not retain your IP address in server logs beyond standard Vercel platform infrastructure logs (see Vercel's privacy policy for details).

Local storage

Test history, settings, and app state are stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time using your browser's privacy settings or via the "Clear history" button on the History page.

Third-party services

Speed tests contact CDN endpoints at Cloudflare, Google, Netflix, Amazon, Microsoft, jsDelivr, and others to measure real-world download throughput. These are standard HTTP GET requests; the CDN providers may log the requests per their own policies.

The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may retain standard web server logs per their privacy policy.

iOS app

The SpeedIPiOS app loads the web application in a native WebView. The same privacy practices apply. The app does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any other device sensors. In-app review prompts use Apple's native SKStoreReviewController API; no data is sent to our servers.

Children's privacy

SpeedIP does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The service contains no mature content and is rated 4+ on the App Store.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
